What are Soft Skills?

Soft Skills are the skills which help an individual fit in better at their workplace, such as social skills, good communication, collaborative skills, and emotional intelligence. While these talents are difficult to quantify, they contribute much to a students’ continued success at their workplace. Workers with well-developed soft skills make for better team members and are more likely to excel at their work.

Soft Skills in Education

Educational institutions and companies are beginning to invest in soft skills training programs to help their employees develop. Even the U.S. Department of Labor has created a “Soft Skills To Pay The Bills’ program to teach soft skills to young people.

Soft skills training can include activities like role play workshops, group activities, mock interviews, and more.
